REIKI is a Japanese form of relaxation and stress reduction which utilizes non-invasive energy
known as the Universal Life Force. "Rei" translates as "Spiritual" or "Higher Power" and "Ki" is
from the Chinese word for "Chi" or "Energy".
Essentially, REIKI practitioners go through a series of attunements and then act as a conduit
transferring the flow of this Universal Life Force from themselves to their client. This is achieved
by placing the palms of their hands on various "safe" places on the recipient's body. As an
intuitive energy, REIKI will then direct itself to the area that most needs healing; restoring
physical, emotional and spiritual balance.
REIKI is practiced while the recipient is lying fully clothed on a yoga mat or on a massage table.
The REIKI experience is different for everyone. Sometimes it helps to clear old patterns. Often
clients sense the practitioner's hands as being hot and they feel the energy moving through their
body, promoting deep relaxation to the recipient. REIKI energy is always safe and can absolutely
never be used in a negative or harmful way. It can only be used for the highest good for both
recipient and practitioner.

REIKI can also be sent distantly. If you are looking to have a REIKI session, but just can't find the
time or simply do not know a REIKI practitioner in your area then this may be the method for you.
REIKI can be sent across time and space by using a proxy in your place. Sending to someone in
India, while you are in San Francisco is not a problem. Or send it to the past to heal your feelings
about an event. It can also be sent to the future to help us manifest our desires, calm our nerves
for an interview, whatever you can think of ... the possibilities are endless.
REIKI works for your Highest Good; whether that means healing a broken bone or helping you
move on from a former relationship. It works at the physical, emotional and spiritual levels.
A typical session at the distant level is 15-20 minutes. Since it is being sent across time and
space, the energy is more charged than during hands-on REIKI session and works at a
tremendously faster pace.
